CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

Habitat is dedicated to building decent and affordable homes. We build one and two-story single-family homes, town homes, condos and restorations. Our homes range from two to four bedrooms. Most of our homes are between 900 sq. ft. to 1,400 sq. ft.

Habitat homes are well built and exceed many building standards. We build with materials that are long lasting and easy to maintain. We strive to be innovative with Green Building Techniques

Current Development / Future Developments

• Morgan Hill - Cory Drive - 6 homes
  Construction on the Morgan Hill development began and is scheduleded to be completed in the summer of 2011. 
  

• Delmas - Delmas Street, San Jose - 1 home
  We are currently finalizing the details for this site and anticipate construction to begin in Fall 2010.   
   

• Fire Station, Santa Clara - 8 homes
  Habitat for Humanity's is in the development process.

Habitat for Habitat for Humanity is known throughout the world for its unique building model, in which volunteers work alongside the families who will own the completed homes.  Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley has adapted the model to work in the Bay Area’s complex urban building environment.

To begin its unique development process, HfHSV asks the surrounding community to provide the donated labor, building materials, and money necessary to complete a Habitat home.  The donated labor helps keep overhead costs to a minimum. Together volunteers, donors, and partner families make this unique building model work.
