Habitat is dedicated to building decent and affordable homes. We build one and two-story single-family homes, town homes, condos and restorations. Our homes range from two to four bedrooms. Most of our homes are between 900 sq. ft. to 1,400 sq. ft.
Habitat homes are well built and exceed many building standards. We build with materials that are long lasting and easy to maintain. We strive to be innovative with Green Building Techniques

Habitat for Humanity's Development Process
Habitat for Habitat for Humanity is known throughout the world for its unique building model, in which volunteers work alongside the families who will own the completed homes. Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley has adapted the model to work in the Bay Area’s complex urban building environment.
To begin its unique development process, HfHSV asks the surrounding community to provide the donated labor, building materials, and money necessary to complete a Habitat home. The donated labor helps keep overhead costs to a minimum. Together volunteers, donors, and partner families make this unique building model work.
Construction Volunteering Opportunities
Day Volunteers
Our construction volunteers work as a team and are assigned a specific task for the day. Drywall a bedroom, landscape the courtyard, lay carpet - just three of the many building jobs we have each day for skilled and unskilled volunteers.
Our day of building houses typically begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. What's more, we want your time on our construction site to be a rewarding experience and one way we do this is by providing options that fit your work-style.
Regular Volunteers
We want your time on our construction site to be a rewarding experience and one way we do this is by providing options that fit your work-style.
If you have limited construction skills, but are anxious to learn and dedicate more than just one day of your time, you can work as part of our team of "Regular" volunteers.
If you enjoy working with others, have prior construction experience (or are handy) and can arrive at the construction site at 8:00 a.m. for the day's orientation you can also become a Team Leader. As a Team Leader, you will direct a small group of volunteers who have come to work for the day. Call us and we will get you started building better futures for families throughout the Valley!
