Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley seeks to provide safe, decent and affordable housing for deserving families in Santa Clara County. Everyday the number of families that are living in substandard housing in the Santa Clara County grows. The Association of Bay Area Government (ABAG) stated that by 2015 60,000 new housing units will need to be built to support the growing population; 15,000 units must be for very low income families.
In the past 25 years Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley has builtĀ 56 homes in Santa Clara County. Each deserving family is able to impact their community and move in a positive trajectory that would be impossible without a stable place to call home.
One third of the United States, nearly ninety-five million people, struggle with housing affordability, overcrowding, unsafe conditions and homelessness. Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley aims to minimize that number by working in our own community with supporters to build homes and spread hope.
